Louisiana Contractor (NASCLA) In Louisiana, a contractor\'s license is required for any job over $2,500. The NASCLA contractor license exam is used for the General Building classification in LA. On a commercial or industrial project they cannot perform electrical; plumbing; heating, ventilating and cooling; piping; or general engineering but can sub-contract these crafts to properly licensed contractors.
The NASCLA exam is accepted in Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, U.S. Virgin Islands, West Virginia
All contractors must take a business law exam also.
